Three French Horns

On the third day of spica, my true love gave to me:
Three French horns...

In our never-ending quest to discover new activities for a 2 1/2 year old in a spica cast, Daddy had a fantastic suggestion:  "Let's see what happens when we take her to a music store!"

Hip Chick squealed with delight as we parked in front of our nearest instrument dealer.  "I rock and roll in a band... all night long!" she exclaimed.  We knew we had a hit on our hands.

Upon walking into the shop, a clerk cheerily greeted us and asked Hip Chick which instrument she would like to play.  Without missing a beat, she answered, "A tuba!"  (Where does she get this stuff?!)  Alas, there was no tuba to inspect, but a sousaphone was a satisfactory substitute.  Next, she explored a French horn.

Next, she was given a child's (translation: durable) trombone to inspect.  This was fascinating for Hip Chick!  After playing with the slide, he stuck her face down its bell and yelled, "Helloooooo!"

No child can resist the bongos or chimes...

But the pinnacle of her experience was the violin.  She kept shouting, "I rock and roll!"  She talked about the violin for many hours after returning home.  A spectacular experience, indeed!

And to finish our carol...

Two turtle hugs...

And a babysitter, parents' night free!
